“Porto – perfecto!”

We were lucky enough to get a reservation here on Saturday night (9th march) to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and I’m so glad we did! The place is out of this world…. Beautiful decor, great staff and above all amazing food! In fact the best meal either of us have ever had! We will be returning next time we stay in the Lake District! “Exceptional!”

Just returned from our evening meal here at Porto. Absolutely wonderful food, better than some of the very expensive restaurants we have eaten in. Thoroughly recommend the porto piggy platter, totally delicious. Excellent wine list which was very good value. Lovely decoration and atmosphere with excellent, friendly staff. Highly recommended. “A Hidden Treasure!”

What a fabulous restaurant, slightly hidden away behind the main road, in an old cobbled back street. The main door has a port hole window (to go with its name) and the decor inside is very boutique chic. It was quite an intimate setting great for a romantic meal. It was spotlessly clean and the staff very welcoming and attentive. We had a great meal on from the early bird menu which was lovely and really good value for money. “Dining delight!”

This restaurant not only offers wonderful food and first class service, the ambiance allows for a wonderful and pleasant dining experience. Firstly, the menu offers a selection of dishes catering for most tastes but is not too large so that it is overwhelming. The food was perfectly cooked to our requirements and adapted to dietary requirements if needed. The wine list perfectly accompanied the menu too and was reasonably priced considering the mark up from some high end restaurants! The servers were wonderfully helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and the dishes they were serving. Reviewed 4 March 2013

“Superb”

We, a party of 6, went this weekend to celebrate our birthdays. The staff were lovely, the set menu was fantastic, great value for money. The table had been decorated with little ‘happy birthdays’ which was a lovely touch. Can’t recommend it highly enough.Reviewed 4 March 2013

“Incredible”

Everything about Porto was amazing. My girlfriend and I went for the early bird menu but found the A La Carte menu too good to resist. The food was brilliant and the service was also excellent. Would definitely recommend to anybody!!! Reviewed 16 February 2013

“Pudding Heaven”

After so many lovely trips, we decided to sign up to dinner at Porto on New Years Eve. The restaurant was completely full, and the atmosphere was lovely – especially with the party hats on the table and the staff being so attentive and happy.

The menu had a fantastic choice and the food that came really delivered on the promise. The rib-eye was a particular highlight, with gorgeous roast potatoes that had been hand turned. As there were a few of us, I got to try every pudding – I don’t have a favourite… I loved them all. I’m not usually a pudding person!

My tip would definitely be save room for dessert! Reviewed 17 January 2013
